I’ve taken a break from writing my weekly diary for a few weeks so this one is overdue.

It was a busy week but I decided to focus on two important events I attended.  The first was the ‘Women in Leadership’ event organised by the Queens Healthcare Leadership Forum.

This is an important and perhaps unique student society since it was the brainchild of a medical student, whom rather than organising a Medical Leadership Society, instead chose to set up a multi-professional ‘healthcare leadership forum’.  This provides a setting where students from medicine, nursing, dentistry, pharmacy and other disciplines can come together to learn.

Another theme of my week was healthcare social media – which I’ve been trying to promote in Northern Ireland.  To this end I organised live tweeting at the ‘Women in Leadership’ event on Wednesday and at a ‘Francis Inquiry Briefing & Discussion’ hosted by IHM and NICON on Friday.

I have created a storify transcript of the ‘Women in Leadership’ live tweet which you can read below.

I also created a storify transcript of the ‘Francis Briefing’  in a separate post which you can read here.  You’ll notice in both transcripts that along with highlighting key learning points from the event I have also tried to highlight key learning points and tips on live tweeting and social media engagement.
